Power Protein Pancakes – A Staple for Healthy Eating

When it comes to healthy eating, Power Protein Pancakes are a staple for me. They’ve got protein, complex carbohydrates and fruit.

I’d be curious if adding some spinach to it would give you some added vitamins too without sacrificing flavor.

The Power Protein Pancakes recipe is SO easy. I will literally just block off a couple of hours to make 6 batches or so of this. Because once they are in pancake form, I just pop them in some gallon ziplocks and keep them in the fridge. To reheat them, just put them in a toaster.

They never get soggy and they never dry up. My husband likes these better than regular pancakes for that reason.

Power Protein Pancakes

Ingredients:

3 eggs
1 cup oats
1 cup cottage cheese
2 teaspoons honey
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions:

Dump everything in a blender and blend. Use batter like regular pancake batter.

 

Healthy Topping Ideas

I like to put Unsweetened Apple Sauce on it and it is a perfect, healthy meal that I can eat a lot of. I usually make a ton of this recipe and then I have a really easy meal every morning when I wake up. There are so many yummy toppings that are also healthy. Try to skip the Maple Syrup and go for one of these instead!

  • Unsweetened Apple Sauce
  • Healthy Fruit Syrup
  • Honey
  • Peanut Butter
  • Almond Butter
  • Bananas
  • Cinnamon

Eating Healthy can be a challenge, but having some sure fire foods around the house at all times will guarantee a more successful venture. When we are trying to eat healthy, we always try to have easy-to-grab healthy food on hand at all times. Power Protein Pancakes are one of those things.

Creamy Crab Pasta – Healthy & Delicious

Lately, I have been trying to come up with healthy, delicious recipes because my body is just not shedding weight as quickly as it has in the past. Creamy Crab Pasta not only is delicious, but it is also super healthy, despite it’s naughty sounding name.

This is not only one of my favorites, but it is husband approved. There are few recipes that get my husband to rave about it and then to be stuck in a dilemma. Eat it all now, or save it so that he can enjoy it again tomorrow?

So, because I want this to be super easy for you, the recipe is below. I’ll add pictures when I make it again. But, delicious!

If you’re into not having to go grocery shopping, I included all of the available ingredients from Amazon Pantry down below.

 

Creamy Crab Pasta

Ingredients:

  • Wheat Pasta (Spaghetti works great)
  • Salt
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 4 Tablespoons Flour
  • Crab or Imitation Crab
  • 4 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 2 Minced Garlic Cloves
  • Red Pepper Flakes

Directions:

Fill up a pot with water and salt it. Heat on stovetop until boiling.

1. Crab of the Creamy Crab Pasta

While it is heating up, Pour 4 Tablespoons of Olive Oil in a frying pan on low heat. Saute minced garlic until it starts to sizzle. Put crab or imitation in with garlic and allow the crab to absorb the garlic flavor.

2. Creamy of the Creamy Crab Pasta

Also, while waiting for pot of water to boil. Pour 2 Tablespoons of Olive Oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Mix in 4 Tablespoons of flour or until it starts to form a paste.

Once a paste has formed, pour in milk. Allow it to heat up until it thickens. Add in salt and pepper to taste and the red pepper flakes.

3. Pasta of the Creamy Crab Pasta

After the salted water has started boiling, pour in pasta and cook al dente.

Put the pasta on your plate first, then the cream sauce and then the sauteed crab on top. Spicy, creamy, sweet, delicious.

I included the Lindt chocolates, because first of all, DELICIOUS! Second of all, Stracciatello happens to be one of my husband’s favorite gelato flavors from Italy. And since this is Italian… enjoy your indulgence!

Easy Chicken Recipe! Perfect for the Lazy People in the World like Me

The Easy Chicken Recipe is one of my absolute favorites because I am so, so, so lazy sometimes. I don't want to spend forever in the kitchen. Aside from just not being a gourmet chef, I can't usually be in the kitchen longer than 5 minutes without a child running in asking for help with something. I also live a very unplanned life. I'm lucky if I get my kids to get to bed on time for naps and at night.

So, it is essential that I have a Go-To Easy Chicken Recipe that can work for anything. It could be used as a stand alone entree. The chicken is an excellent addition to mashed potatoes or vegetables. I love to cook more than I need and shred the extra so that I have a lot of meat for sandwiches, soups or other yummy meals throughout the week.

The last thing I want to see when I have forgotten that my children and husband might want something to eat, is recipes that take forever or that require my vigil at the frying pan. I want an easy, healthy recipe that frees me up to do other things. Ta-da! Easy chicken recipe at your feet.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Put desired amount of chicken breasts on the pan and drizzle olive oil on top of each one. Sprinkle with salt and garlic powder.

Put in the oven for ten minutes. Then flip over the chickens and heat for another 15 minutes. Make sure the chicken is not pink in the middle.

(If you are feeling super lazy and want a super easy chicken recipe, don't worry about flipping the chicken over. It'll all get cooked if you just leave it in there long enough. I'd say at least a total of 30 minutes. Just make sure it's not pink in the middle.)

I like to get two forks and shred the chicken. Just stab your fork into a piece of the chicken you wish to shred and place the other fork next to it. Pull the 'unstabbed' fork away from the stabbed one in the direction of the threads. I like to do a lot of chicken at the beginning of the week, shred it and then have cooked chicken to go in yummy meals all week.

Healthy Pasta Carbonara in Just 20 Minutes! – Super Easy

Easy, Fast, Kid Friendly

Healthy Pasta Carbonara is, of course, a bit redundant. The Italians know how to cook delicious, healthy food that needs no tweaking.

This is merely an attempt to provide more nutrients, eliminate some of the fat and provide you with a SUPER EASY recipe that your husband and kids will love.

As you will come to know, I believe that a recipe worthy of posting online is one that is super fast, easy and healthy....maybe unhealthy sometimes. You've got to have a little treat every now and then. I've posted the recipe at the bottom again for your ease of use.

How to Make Healthy Pasta Carbonara

Fill up a large pot with water, salt it and place it on top of a burner on high.

While water is heating up, pour some olive oil on a frying pan. Turn the heat to medium low.

Usually while the oil and water are heating, I chop up ham. You can use deli ham. In the picture below I'm using a ham steak. It really doesn't matter what kind of ham you want to use.

Once the oil has had a chance to heat up a little bit, dump the chopped onions or minced garlic in and heat until the onions are soft or the garlic is sizzling. At that point, dump in the cut up pieces of ham and allow the bacon to cook.

Put wheat spaghetti into boiling water. Cook Al Dente. While this is happening, just allow the ham and garlic to keep simmering together. It will start to bubble and look foamy creating a perfect symphony of flavor.

Drain the water from the spaghetti pot when it has cooked so that there is just barely a crunch when you taste the spaghetti (al dente). IMMEDIATELY, dump the spaghetti back in the pot and crack the eggs into the steaming hot pasta. Stir the spaghetti, coating it all with the eggs.

There will be little bits of cooked eggs throughout the pasta. Pour the olive oil, bacon and onions into the pot with the pasta as well. Stir. Serve with freshly grated parmesan cheese.

-Olive Oil
-Ham (desired amount-cut into pieces)
-Wheat Spaghetti
-3 Eggs
-Parmesan Cheese

While water is heating up, pour some olive oil on a frying pan, dump the chopped onions in and heat until the onions are just starting to get soft. Dump in the cut up pieces of ham and allow the bacon to cook.
